Stock market trend similar to 1994

A lot of people expected that Malaysia's stock market will performed similar to super bull run in 1993.

However,1993 stock market closed positively in February or after Chinese New Year.

This year, stock market ended lower in the month of February and before the end of Chinese New Year. Thus, it is more similar to 1994 than 1993. Especially China stock market which seem overheated like what happen at the end of 1993 for Malaysia stock market.

Thus, investor in Malaysia at least should expect a volatile year ahead if they think the fundamental is still intact.

The last time the market was 1998 and 1994. The similiarities are there. 'Hot' retailers, encouraged to go in for the 1350 points, guided by greed and herd mentality. As was the case in both crashes, all and sundry came out to sooth and calm the 'suckered'.Party is over folks. Reality stinks and sinks.Good luck.

As I mentioned above. The market might be on an uptrend but could be volatile and roller coaster this year.

Thus, you might buy on fundamental rather than speculative.....and buy when market is down as there would be a lot of oppportunity like the past one month and then sell off when you have gain and when the market is going up.

Stock selection might be base on fundamental but invest on a very short term basis before market come down.
